Having just moved into NYC this past week, I can safely say I am surviving in this concrete jungle and quickly learning how to be efficient/smart with my money. Just recently, I made the amateur mistake of buying orange juice with my breakfast instead of water and ended up paying $4.95 for the glass when my meal alone was only $5.95! Learned lesson: ALWAYS order water haha. However, when it comes to being smart with my money, I would never hesitate to buy tickets for the upcoming Jay-Z/Eminem Concert at Yankee Stadium, Jay-Z’s home turf, on September 13 and September 14.
Having attended a Jay-Z concert last spring at Penn State University, I was blown away by his performance and showmanship; it was THE best concert I have ever been to in all my years hands down. From the stunning New York City backdrop Jay-Z had on stage for his Blueprint 3 Tour, to his inspiring words for the crowd “to never give up on your dreams” right before performing “A Star Is Born,” and from his encouraging the crowd to take off their shirts and wave them around in the air during his hit “Big Pimpin’,” to the humble moment he shared with the crowd during “Young Forever” as he turned the spotlight onto his fans reminding them that he wouldn’t be where he is today without them, Jay-Z reminded us that he never lost sight of where he came from and what it takes to be the world’s number one entertainer.
Just when I thought Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 Tour could not be topped, Eminem was added to the lineup, bringing two of the game’s best Hip-Hop artists of all-time together at one venue for a once in a lifetime opportunity. The fact that only three concerts have been scheduled makes this tour one of the most in-demand tours of the year. As if there weren’t enough great Hip-Hop artists already a part of this tour, B.O.B was named the opening act for all three concerts. Ticket prices are ranging from $160 (Grandstands) to as high as $1,000 for VIP tickets and $7,000 for first row center stage tickets. Tickets are sold out on Ticketmaster except for VIP, but tickets are STILL available at the Ticket Liquidator at all prices click here. If you can, take advantage of this rare chance or you will regret it, you never know when this will happen again and the lineup is well worth the $160 tickets.
The first of three concerts took place this past Thursday night at Detroit’s Comerica Park, Eminem’s home turf. One of my good friends attended the sold-out concert in Detroit and told me that guest appearances were out of this world, including appearances by artists such as 50 Cent and Drake. I was also told that the lightshow was jaw-dropping and out of this world for the concert and that the transitions between songs were so smooth, allowing the artists to keep the concert flowing and the crowd hyped.
We’d love to hear about your experiences if you attend the Jay-Z/Eminem concert for a follow-up blog that will be written in the coming weeks regarding this concert. Please email me at djwill.sw@gmail.com with your feedback! It is greatly appreciated!

(Music) G.O.O.D. Fridays continue…
The always controversial Kanye West is sticking to his promise. He said he will drop a new song every weekend until Christmas, calling it G.O.O.D. Friday…not a bad way to build anticipation to the release of his new album. Kanye’s “Devil In A New Dress” offers a laid back type flow over a very soulful track. It reminds me of the production Mr. West did on Jay-Z’s Blueprint album. Check it out!

(Music) Kanye West “Powers” up Alors On Danse
Dance song Alors On Danse gets even more catchy as Kanye West throws down a remix of the hit. The original track produced by Paul Van Haver, better known as Stromae is now hyped up for the clubs with a hip-hop feel to it while still keeping the sexy beat. Enjoy

(Celebrity News) Kanye West’s Good Fridays
Kanye West seems to genuinely be cleaning up his act since his outlandish onstage interruption of Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at last year’s MTV Video Music Awards. Although hillbillies across America were appalled by Kanye’s outburst, we’d rather give him props. Any semi-intelligent person knows Beyonce deserved that award over Swift. Regardless, Mr. West has been invited back to the upcoming VMAs and this year he will be performing. The live show airs on MTV September 12th, at 9 p.m.
Good news is that fans won’t have to wait until September 12th to hear new music by Kanye, nor will they have to wait for his still untitled 5th album to drop. Kanye tweeted this past Sunday, August 22nd, that he will be releasing a new song every week until Christmas. Kanye fans can call the new weekly music an early Christmas gift; Kanye will be calling the music “Good Fridays.”
“It may be my song, it may be a new Jay song, etc, but it’s a new song for the fans.” Mr. West knows the games changed and he’s on the forefront. “It’s about the fans. No more holding back. That’s why I dropped See Me Now… It wasn’t about me it was about the summer, the BBQs etc.”
Kanye is currently working on projects with Pusha T, Raekwon, Mos Def, Swizz Beatz and Pharrell Williams. Not to mention, a movie to correspond with is much-anticipated next album. The major problem for Kanye is the lack of hours in a day so he chooses work over sleep. “Yall make all the hard work worth it. We been up to 5 am every night working.”
Thanks for the dedication Kayne, we’re looking forward to “Good Fridays” and your next album. And just keep remembering that without us, your fans, you wouldn’t be Welcome to the Good Life.

(Music) Cee-Lo Green says “F*ck You”
Cee-Lo Green has a big hit on his hands…even without radio airplay.
You are sure to recognize Cee-Lo’s soulful voice as he has worked with the groups Gnarls Barkley and Goodie Mob on past projects and hit records. His song “Fuck You” is set to be featured on his upcoming solo album entitled The Lady Killer. This track has been an instant success since hitting the internet, only days ago. A official video for the song is anticipated. I’m curious how the hook for the radio edit will go.
Check it out for yourself.
